What a Bail Bond Costs

Bail Bond Cost in Colorado

You pay a one-time premium — a percentage of the bond the court sets — not the full amount. Here is how that premium works, what changes it, and how to get your exact figure.

How the Premium Works

You pay the premium, not the bail.

When a judge sets a bond, you can pay the court the full amount in cash and get it back later, or pay a licensed bondsman a much smaller one-time premium to post the whole bond for you. The premium is the bondsman's fee for guaranteeing the full amount to the court — it is non-refundable, and on most bonds it is the only cost you ever pay.

Example: On a $5,000 bond, the premium is up to $750 — not $5,000. We quote the exact figure the moment we know the bond amount.

What Goes Into Your Quote

Four things set the price.

Every quote starts with the bond amount and the state-regulated premium. Larger bonds and payment terms are worked out with a licensed bondsman, up front.

  1. 01
    Bond amount

The premium is a percentage of the bond the court sets, so the total starts there.

  2. 02
    The premium

Colorado caps the premium at 15% of the bond, with a $50 state minimum.

  3. 03
    Collateral

Smaller bonds usually need none; larger bonds may, and it is returned when the case ends.

  4. 04
    Payment plan

On most bonds you can split the premium into manageable payments.

Cost Questions

Straight answers on price.

How much does a bail bond cost in Colorado?

In Colorado the bail bond premium is a one-time fee of up to 15% of the total bond the court sets, with a $50 state minimum. You pay the premium — not the full bond amount. Advanced Bail Bonds quotes your exact premium up front, with payment plans on most bonds and no hidden fees.

Is the bail bond premium refundable?

No. The premium is a one-time, non-refundable service fee — it is what you pay a licensed bondsman to post the full bond with the court on your behalf. On most bonds it is the only cost you ever pay.

Do you offer payment plans?

Yes. Advanced Bail Bonds offers payment plans on most bonds. Call (719) 667-0600 Monday through Saturday and we will walk through the options based on the bond amount and your situation.

Will I need collateral?

Smaller bonds usually need no collateral. Larger bonds may require collateral — such as property or a vehicle title — which is returned once the case is resolved and the bond is exonerated. We explain any collateral clearly before you sign.

Are there any hidden fees?

No. We quote the premium up front and explain every cost before you commit. Call with the bond amount for an exact figure — no surprises.
